Why here.
The Lehigh Valley is the most undercovered business region in the Northeast. Roughly 700,000 residents across Lehigh and Northampton counties, the third-largest metro in Pennsylvania, and historically the East Coast's industrial backbone. It sits exactly between New York and Philadelphia — close enough that the talent and capital networks of both cities are reachable in an afternoon, far enough that the cost structure makes a $30M family-owned business actually profitable.
The companies operating here are not the ones VCs blog about. They're $5M–$100M businesses, often second- or third-generation, with margin discipline that coastal startups can only fantasize about. Most are also under-served by sophisticated marketing and AI advisory — most consulting capacity heads to NYC or Philly addresses, then bills a coastal rate to drive 90 minutes back.
Olegna runs from inside this region, not adjacent to it.
The three cities Olegna serves locally.
In-person engagements happen across the three principal cities. Within 90 minutes of Allentown we travel for client work; beyond that, remote. The bulk of the work concentrates here.
Allentown
The economic center of the Lehigh Valley. Home to the largest concentration of healthcare, financial services, and family-owned manufacturers in the region. Olegna's base.
Bethlehem
The cultural anchor — Lehigh University, Moravian, and a deep small-business density along the old Steel campus. Strong B2B services concentration.
Easton
Lafayette College, the Crayola headquarters, and a growing creative-services cluster. The eastern edge of the Valley; gateway to the New Jersey side of the corridor.
What we do from here.
Three services, all available locally with in-person work expected:
- Operator capital for early-stage consumer brand and tech founders. Small checks, hands-on, mostly Northeast-based companies. Read more →
- Digital marketing consulting and fractional CMO work for $5M–$100M businesses with marketing teams that need senior leadership at less than executive-hire cost. Read more →
- AI strategy and enablement for operators figuring out where AI fits and how to actually deploy it. Roadmap engagements through implementation. Read more →
The investment side and the consulting side feed each other. Many of our consulting clients become co-investors or partners over time; many of our portfolio company founders introduce us to their network in the region. The compounding works.
The Lehigh Valley operator network.
A meaningful portion of Olegna's value is the network we keep warm here. CEOs of family-owned mid-market companies. Operators who exited and stayed in the region. Marketing leaders at the biggest employers. The Lehigh University and Lafayette alumni networks. Bankers, attorneys, accountants who serve this specific size of business.
If you're an operator in the Valley and we haven't met, we should. Most of what Olegna actually does on any given week is keep that network warm and useful for the businesses we work with.
